The Forbes Services Memorial Club is a great supporter of the Forbes Community and once again has granted in excess of $40,000 is cash grants and sponsorships for 2011. The Club’s most recent approved grants and sponsorships were to the following recipients’.

WIRELESS INTERNET HOTSPOT AND CAFE

The Forbes Services Club has just teamed up with Fusion Broadband and Complete Insight Solutions of Forbes to introduce a wireless internet hotspot solution to the Club that is available free of charge for Club members' and guests visiting the Club.

The Club's General Manager, David Fitzgerald said " that the Fushion Broadband now gives the Club superfast internet that can be offered to members, guests and the numerous travellers of the Newell Highway. The Club is offering this service free of charge for their social use for such things as catching up with family and friends on face book, checking and booking forward accommodation and keeping tab on their finances whilst on the road". David also stated that the new Fushion Broadband will offer the many Corporate and Business clients of the Club an appropriate wireless internet solution at an affordable hourly rate for all their conference and business meetings".

Accessing the wireless internet hotspot is easy... all you need to do is speak to one of the friendly office staff or Shift Supervisor to obtain a ticket that will have the appropriate registration codes to access the internet. Once you have your ticket you can make yourself comfortable, order a nice cup of coffee, a cold drink and something to eat from the Cafe and enjoy!

BIG WINNERS - $57,000

Congratulations to Leonie Jarret the third BIG WINNER of the Community Clubs Mega Jackpot Draw. Leonie is a member of the Gunnedah Golf Club and was present at the time of the draw on Saturday 5th May 2012. Leonie WON $11,000. Leonie follows Geoff Potter of Cobar Bowling and Golf Club, the inaugural WINNER and Peter York the second winner also of Gunnedah Golf Club. Geoff won $26,000 on Saturday 4 February 2012 and Peter won $20,000 on Saturday 21 April 2012.

Total prize money won to date $57,000.00

The Community Clubs Mega Jackpot draw will now restart at $10,000 on Saturday 12 May and will be drawn between 6pm and 8pm.

To be eligiable to enter all you need to do is be a member of your home town Club as listed, be at the Club each Saturday night for the draw and you too could be the next BIG winner!

CASUAL BAR/GAMING STAFF WANTED

Forbes Services Memorial Club is seeking to employ suitably qualified enthusiastic and self motivated persons’ with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. To secure a casual position you will be able to demonstrate our “Service Behaviours” with a “can do” attitude. You will able to meet deadlines, work under pressure and be prepared to work weekends and nights. The successful applicants’ will be part of the CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM who will be responsible for delivering excellence in customer service to members and guests of the Club.

Principal Objective – You will report directly to the Duty Supervisors’ and your focus will be to provide customer service in beverage and gaming to the members and guests of the Club in accordance with the Club’s Service Behaviours. You will ensure the provision of customer service and facilities are kept to the highest standard. You will be able to mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons, perform poker machine payments and correct minor machine faults, prepare and serve simple food items. You will be required to comply with the policies and working conditions as set down in the Club’s Employee Handbook.

 

Essential Requirements - Ideally applicants will have 1 to 2 years working experience in a Club, Hotel or Hospitality Industry environment, sound computer skills, strong interpersonal and written communication skills and an eye for detail. You are a team player who leads by example, and possess excellent organisational skills and personal presentation. Additionally, you will be the holder of a current NSW Class C driver’s license (or interstate equivalent). Flexibility in hours and days is essential due to the Clubs 7-day operation. Accreditation in RSA and RCG is required.

 

Probationary Period - The position will be performance based with the successful applicant commencing employment for a 90 day probationary period. At the conclusion of the 90 days the employee’s work performance will be assessed to determine suitability. The employer may elect to extend the probationary period for a further 90 days.
